Grocery Shopping in Manhattan

I went to go get Forrest groceries while he’s in dance class at Alvin Ailey and forgot to take a cart from his upper east side Manhattan apartment, like any southern girl would. I just about severed both of my arms off trying to get the heavy bags of food back to his apartment.

Several people with their little carts on wheels passed me as I struggled down the street. They were probably thinking ‘She must have just moved here.’

I’ve managed to cook a couple of things to freeze for Forrest. He can take them down as he wants them. I’m right on schedule. I wanted to get out exploring around noon. I’ll be meeting up with Forrest this evening to go see Illuminate, the dancers that were on Americas Got Talent, perform.

I was teasing Forrest yesterday about how much I keep coming to visit after he moved out. He said he doubted I would be making so many trips if he were living in some city in Oklahoma or something. He may be on to something.

I love NYC!

Arrived Saturday, leaving Wednesday. This will be my fourth trip here since last July when he moved, not including when I flew to Manchester to watch him perform in the Nutcracker in December. I really need to get on the ball with my travel posts! I started a post about my trip to the beach last month and it turned into me chatting it up about several other trips I have been on this year. Perhaps I can figure out a way to break that massive writing up and share some of my adventures on WordPress again soon.

  1. You could send the whole thing to me if you want. I don’t mind lengthy posts that are interesting. They hold my attention too. I will be happy to throw in my two cents as well if you like. And there will be pictures, right?

  2. I have to post it. I started writing it and it ended up dragging on through several trips. I need to break it up and make several posts or no one is going to want to read it because of its length.

  3. So glad you’re having fun in NYC. I can’t imagine grocery shopping there. New York fascinates me, but I don’t know if all the noise and fast-paced life and I would get along. I don’t recall seeing your post about your beach trip. Could you send me a link? Be careful and don’t talk to strangers. :>)
