Follow Christ at All Cost

The enemy tempts us to do what feels good, puts our needs first, fits our own understanding, requires no faith, brings immediate but shallow acceptance, causes the least resistance, or feels most comfortable now and then laughs and jeers when we get hit with the consequences that inevitably come later: guilt, shame, worry, poverty, embarrassment, lack, bondage, emptiness, rejection and isolation.

God gently directs us to do what may be uncomfortable, difficult, selfless, contradicts our own understanding, gets us rejected temporarily, and requires faith and then delights to bless our socks off with the consequences that inevitably lead to highest hearts fulfillment, purpose, freedom, peace, love, joy, and intimacy.

Don’t fall for it! Do today what you are going to be glad you did long term. Follow Christ’s example at all cost and do not grow weary in doing what is right!!!

———————————————-

‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.’

-Hebrews 12:1-3
